Amos, Isaiah, Paul, Trusting in God

Hate Evil, Love Good: You cannot Hide From God

This morning, I woke up at 1 AM. I just could not fall back asleep. Some bible verses came into my head, and I kept repeating them silently.

Romans8-31

If God is for us, who can be against us?
–Romans 8:31 (NKJV)

Isaiah54-17

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.
–Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)

God is bigger than anything that I can see with my eyes. I have to totally let go and trust in the Lord. God wants to seek good, because God is so good. God wants us to hate evil and love good.

Amos5-14

Seek good and not evil,
That you may live;
So the Lord God of hosts will be with you,
As you have spoken.
Hate evil, love good;
Establish justice in the gate.
It may be that the Lord God of hosts
Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
–Amos 5:14-15 (NKJV)

It can be lonely doing God’s will. There are times when I feel like everyone is against me, and I have no idea why. I just have to look up and trust that God has my life in his hands. God will take care of me. I have to choose good and hate evil. It does not matter if everyone around me is seething with hate against me. I have to do God’s will. I am not comparing myself to others. I am measuring my actions by what scripture tells me God wants me to do. It only matters what God thinks of me. God knows my heart. There is nothing that I can hide from God.
