Good morning! I am trying to back to my routine after having yesterday off for President’s Day. This morning, I heard the best news. A friend from church was worried that her cancer was returning, but the tests came back with no signs of cancer. This news made me happy and jolted me out of my sleepy morning. It was a reminder to embrace each day and thank God for our health.
I read the 2nd and 3rd epistles of John this morning. He prayed that you prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. Do you have concerns about your health? I have been having some issues with my metabolism, and it seems impossible to lose weight. I have Hypothyroidism, where your metabolism slows down. I have to take medication to regulate it. I know many people have this condition. Lately, the levels have been off, making me sluggish, tired, and depressed. It was tested again and the levels appeared normal. I don’t know if it is stress or my diet. Soy can cause the medication to not work properly. It is frustrating to so easily gain weight and fight to lose even a pound.
We all have ups and downs in life. It can be a physical condition, making us feel worn down. Or, it can be emotional events that deplete all our energy. It is normal and ok. We just need to find a way to get through it. When I pray to the Holy Spirit to fill me up and energize me, I feel so much better. My problems are still there. The difference is that I invited God to be there with me too. God can ease my worries and carry me through it. It can be easy to be frustrated and wallow in self defeating thoughts. God doesn’t want my life to be frustrating.
God is truth and love. After a few days of not reading the bible, I can feel it. And, I went to church on Sunday. The truth is in me. The truth is in you. Believe it. Paul says there is no greater joy than to hear his children walk in truth. When your father feels such amazing joy, how can you not? Some days, I just have to get up and walk, knowing that God has all my worries and fears. I may not understand what is going on, but God knows. God can take this thing and turn it upside down.
For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
–3 John 3-4 (NKJV)
I hope that you have a great day today. No matter what you are feeling, God can help you through it. God carries us through the rough times and rejoices with us in the happy times. I pray that you prosper in all things and be in health.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
–3 John 2 (NKJV)
Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
–2 John 3 (NKJV)
