Micah, Trusting in God

God Is In Charge

Good morning. We have been home since Thursday, March 12, when schools announced closures. We are going on Day 12 of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Some mornings I wake up and just cannot believe this is actually happening. Do you feel that way? I am wondering if schools will be closed until September. I think that is a likely possibility.

Overall, we are doing well. We put our faith and trust in God. Each day is truly a blessing. I say that as I tell my kids to stop talking for the 100th time in 10 minutes and finish their math worksheets. I didn’t say it was perfect…

What does the Lord Require of us? God wants us to act justly. God wants us to do what is morally right and fair.

God wants us to have mercy. God wants us to show compassion and forgiveness towards others, instead of punishing them.

God want us to walk humbly with him. God wants us to be unpretentious. God wants us to be modest. God does not want us to brag or show-off.

Micah6-8

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?
–Micah 6:8 (NKJV)

We have to be humble, because God is in charge. Right now, everyone is in the same situation. We have to stay close to home and social distance, when we do go outside our homes.

Instead of focusing on what we can no longer do, we should look for all the blessings all around us. There is so much to be thankful for, our homes, our family members, our health, our jobs and most of all God.

God, I know you are watching over us right now. You’ve got this. Give our hearts peace and patience as we wait for what is next.

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for all that I have right now. I pray that you will continue to provide for us and give us what we need each day.

I pray that you will comfort those who are feeling stressed-out.

I pray that you will give jobs and financial help to those who lost their jobs.

God, I pray that you will heal the sick.

I pray that you will protect our doctors, healthcare professionals, truck drivers, grocery workers and all those putting their own lives in jeopardy to help others.

God, I pray that each of us will do our part to end this pandemic.

God, I pray that you guide our leaders to do your good will.

God, I pray that each of your children will find your goodness during this uncertain time in history.

Amen

    1. Truly, it is always good to remember God’s blessings, especially now, as I see my friends work as nurses and hear about people losing their jobs. I think we need prayer now more than ever!
