I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Christ

About 6 years ago, people were putting the mark of Nazarene on their social media profile pictures. The Islamic State (ISIS) marked homes and businesses owned by Christians with a red, painted ن. This letter of the Arabic alphabet is equivalent to the Roman letter N. The ن stands for Nazarenes, an Arabic word for Christians. ISIS marked houses and businesses with ’N’ with the intention to persecute these Christians. This red Arabic letter was a mark of death for Christians.

Around the world, people added the Arabic letter “N” to their social media profile pictures with the scripture quote “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”

The Just Live by Faith
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
—Romans 1:16 NKJV

It was a powerful statement. Instead of running and hiding from their faith, people boldly proclaimed their faith. They were not ashamed of the gospel.

The more that we start living in the world, the easier it is to act like the world. At what point do we stop conforming to the world and boldly proclaim, “No, this is wrong!”?

God loves all of us. God created us us to be just as we are. The world judges us for not being a certain way. The world tells us that we are never good enough. God tells us that we are perfectly made.

For there is no partiality with God.
—Romans 2:11 NKJV

Partiality is an unfair bias in favor of one thing or person compared with another; favoritism. God loves each of us. God does not favor one person over another. God loves us all, every tribe and every nation.

A Multitude from the Great Tribulation
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands
—Revelation 7:9 NKJV

God has no favoritism among his children. God loves us beyond anything we can imagine. We need to boldly live a life that says to everyone we encounter, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”.
