God can be a fierce and mighty warrior. God has the power to erase everything that he created on this earth. Even though God can do whatever he wants, God chooses to love us. We need to have abounding respect and reverence for God. The power of God is almighty. God can be like a roaring lion ready to devour us. God can be like a leopard ready to pounce on us. God can be like a bear deprived of her cubs. God’s wrath and anger can be a horror to see. Even though God can do whatever he wants, God chooses to help us. Our help comes form the Lord. When all is lost, God does not leave us. God helps us. When everybody leaves us, God will be our King and save us and our cities.
“So I will be to them like a lion;
Like a leopard by the road I will lurk;
I will meet them like a bear deprived of her cubs;
I will tear open their rib cage,
And there I will devour them like a lion.
The wild beast shall tear them.
“O Israel, you are destroyed,
But your help is from Me.
I will be your King;
Where is any other,
That he may save you in all your cities?
And your judges to whom you said,
‘Give me a king and princes’?
–Hosea 13:7-10 (NKJV)
God gave us the power to make our own choices, even if our choices are against him. In our culture, we highly value being independent and earning everything all by ourselves. God has given us that freedom. We can also choose God. At any point, we can stop and turn to God. Satan will try and whisper doubts to us. “You are not good enough. You have done too many wrongs. Why would anybody want you?” God is waiting and saying to us “I want you. I made you. I love you.”
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for everything that you have created in the universe. Thank you for giving me the freedom of choice. God, I choose you and pray to do your will. I pray that you will be a mighty warrior and protector for me and my family.
