A moment in history was made today. SpaceX has launched NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken on their historic Demo-2 mission to the International Space Station. The mission is the first time that astronauts have launched from American soil since the final Space Shuttle flight in 2011.

Today, is the perfect time to remember Katherine Johnson and all the Hidden Figures that have paved the way to this historic moment. Read my original post: Stay Steadfast On Your Walk With God
Watching #SpaceX launch today and can’t help but think about what we all now know about the contributions to space travel given to us by Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson and Dorothy Vaughan. #LaunchAmerica #NASA pic.twitter.com/IoUh9fYtCW— John Canzano (@johncanzanobft) May 30, 2020
Katherine Johnson was a Mathematician and Physicist that worked at NASA. She died two days ago at the age of 101. She broke through barriers for all women. Did I mention that she was a Black American? I get all choked up reading her story, and I ordered the Hidden Figures book to learn more about her. She graduated with a degree in Mathematics and French at the age of 18. Her university professors created new mathematics courses just for her. She calculated trajectories for the space program. She crunched the numbers for the path that the space shuttles took. When computers started making the calculations, the astronauts would not go, until she computed the numbers.
Thank you for reading my blog. May God Bless all the Hidden Figures and Trail Blazers that boldly pursued their God given gifts to make history.
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
