I have lived my life with God and without God. I have lived for the world. I have lived where I thought that I knew God, but I was misguided. Now, I am trying to live a life that pleases God. Am I perfect? No way. I am a work in progress, but I have come a long way.
I have lived without God. If you knew me in the past, you would laugh at the thought that I am trying to live a life that pleases God. My past did not honor God, myself or others. My past certainly did not please God. I cringe thinking about it. Satan likes to remind me of it, every chance he gets.
I have lived for the world. Living for the world creates chaos in your heart. It never brings satisfaction. Think of all the celebrities that had it all, money, fame and adoration, yet they still took their own lives. The world will never bring you happiness.
Now, I try to live a Godly life. God will fill your heart with peace, happiness, and love. God fills up that emptiness, that we all feel. When we ask what is my purpose in the world? God has a purpose for you. You were made for a purpose. God has plans for your future. If you are not sure of your purpose, pray to the one that gave you life and knows your purpose.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
—Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
God is gracious to me. God is gracious to all of us. God meets us right where we are at now.
God forgives us of our sins, when we pray and ask him for forgiveness. Then, God goes even farther. God blots out our sins.
I, I am he
—Isaiah 43:25 ESV
who blots out your transgressions for my own sake,
and I will not remember your sins.
God forgives. God redeems. God reforms us. God repairs us. God restores us.
God loves us. God is righteous. God is gracious to me and you. I believe that God is good and wants the best for us, so I want to follow his laws. I am an advocate of God’s rules and laws. I pray and for God’s favor in my life. I want God to teach me discernment. I want God to teach me the sum of what is known. I want God to teach me truth. God’s love is steadfast. God’s love for us is immoveable. It does not change. I believe in God’s laws and commandments. Before I accepted God, I was troubled. I made mistakes and I went away from God. Now, I follow God’s authority.
You have dealt well with your servant,
—Psalm 119: 65-67
O LORD, according to your word.
Teach me good judgment and knowledge,
for I believe in your commandments.
Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I keep your word.
If what you are doing isn’t working, try something new. God is waiting for you. God will take you right where you are at this moment. God will fill the emptiness in your heart. God will reveal why he has plans of hope and a future for your life.
Prayer
God, I have tried living for this world. I still feel alone. I pray that you will fill my heart with peace, as only you can. God, show me how to live my life for you. God, show me how I can live my life for the future you have planned for me.
Amen
