God’s Love For Us Is immeasurable

Gossip can seem harmless, but its actually destructive. Somebody has a take tidbits of information and keep talking about it, not letting the information fade away from our hearts and minds. 

Where there is no wood, the fire goes out;
And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.
As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire,
So is a contentious man to kindle strife.

—Proverbs 26:20-21 NKJV

When you don’t have wood, you cannot have a fire. If nobody is whispering, quarrels, fights and arguments cease. If there are embers and sparks of fire on the wood. The wood needs to be kindled for the fire to continue. A contentious person constantly fans the flames of conflict.

Merriam Webster defines Contentious as:
: likely to cause disagreement or argument
: exhibiting an often perverse and wearisome tendency to quarrels and disputes

Merriam Webster defines strife as:
: bitter sometimes violent conflict or dissension
: an act of contention : FIGHT, STRUGGLE
: exertion or contention for superiority

Why won’t she just let it go? A person who spreads information true, false or twisted is viciously fighting for superiority over you. The only way she can feel good is to try to squash other people, so she looks good. 

Have you ever found yourself tangled up in a web of gossip spread about you? Unfortunately I have been there. Its even worse when it is a trusted person in your life, who you love like a sister. When you allow yourself to be vulnerable and honest to that person, only to find out she is twisting your words and thoughts to make you look pathetic. It is devastating. 

The only one that is always there for you, will still be there for you. God loves you. God knows your heart. God will fight for you in the heavenly realms. You may have to pray your way away from that person and leave the relationship in the past. 

You are never alone. Pray to God, and he will give you comfort to get through anything. God loves you more than the stars in the sky. God’s love for us is immeasurable.
