Good Morning!
Life can get crazy. I have been trying to get a handle on my life for years. We have been through some tough times, as most people have. God started working on me years ago. During a difficult time, I was finally ready to listen. I could believe and trust in God, or I could get caught up in my world crashing around me. I let go of control and trusted in God. It was so hard.
I didn’t know that I would get peace by letting go, praying and trusting in God.
I still have to remind myself that when I can’t do it, God can. God can give me strength and equip me with what I need to do his good works. I just see what is front of me, God sees everything, things I can’t see, future outcomes and the potential locked within me.
I have some challenging things in store for me. Goals I want to complete, that I don’t think I can. It is a mental challenge, trying to get started, keep going and being vulnerable and raw. It all feels so uncomfortable. Worst yet, I actually know it will be zones away from my comfortable space.
Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.
Redeem me from human oppression, that I may obey your precepts.
Make your face shine on your servant and teach me your decrees.
Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed.
—Psalm 119:133-136 (NIV)
Breaking down the verses:
- Praying that God directs me and guides me. We all struggle with sins that hold us back and limit our happiness, so I have to pray that God will give me the strength to not let sin rule my life.
- Free me from the harmfulness of the bad choices I have made. Humans are weighed down by our sinful choices, all of us, nobody is above bad choices. Help me follow your laws, instead of going along with the crowd.
- Make your light shine in me and through me. Teach me your laws.
- When I see your goodness, I am overwhelmed with sadness and cry knowing that your laws are not obeyed.
We live in a sinful world, so we will face difficulties on this side of heaven. Everyday that we wake up, God has a purpose for us. Our time table is not the same as God’s time table. God knows the beginning and the end. It is not too late. We just need to look up and trust in God and believe that God’s timing is always perfect.
Sing Your Praises
My Jesus
Song by Anne Wilson
Lyrics
… Are you past the point of weary?
Is your burden weighin’ heavy?
Is it all too much to carry?
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
Do you feel that empty feeling?
‘Cause shame’s done all its stealin’
And you’re desperate for some healin’
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
… He makes a way where there ain’t no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He’s done for me
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life
… Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Amen
Amen
… Who can wipe away the tears
From broken dreams and wasted years
And tell the past to disappear? Oh
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
And all the wrong turns that you would
Go and undo if you could
Who can work it all for your good
Let me tell you about my Jesus
… He makes a way where there ain’t no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He’s done for me
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life
… Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Amen
Amen, Amen
… Who would take my cross to Calvary?
Pay the price for all my guilty?
Who would care that much about me?
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus, oh
… He makes a way where there ain’t no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He’s done for me
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life
… Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah, amen
Amen
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my Jesus change your life
