God Blesses Those Who Trust in Him

At the start of creation, God made humans, and he was pleased. Then, in the Garden of Eden, Adam knew not to eat fruit from one tree, yet he took the fruit offered from Eve and ate it anyway. Satan deceived Eve, and so now we have sin. Each of us wrestle with sin everyday. Since, we live in a sinful world, that will not change until the End of Time when Jesus comes back.

Adam and Eve had two sons (later they would have another son) Cain and Abel. The Lord accepted and was pleased with Abel’s sacrifices. The Lord was not pleased with Cain’s sacrifice, which made Cain angry. So, did Cain go back and think wow I am going to try harder next time? Nope. Cain stewed in his anger. God asked Cain why he was angry. God said if Cain did well, he would be accepted. If he doesn’t do well, sin waits at his door. That is true with each of us today. Sin is waiting for us, ready to overcome us, but God is stronger. We all struggle with sin. My struggle doesn’t have to be the same as yours. It is a daily fight to overcome sin. Praying and reading the bible really equip us to take on this fight against sin. Cain gave in to his anger and jealousy, Cain killed his brother. It is reminder to stay humble and seek God’s strength when we are weak.

So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
—Genesis 4: 6-7 NKJV

At the beginning of time, some men found favor with God. A few generations after Adam and Eve, Enoch was born. Enoch found such high favor with God, that he not only walked with God, God took him. What does that mean? It sounds like God took him to heaven with him.

And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
—Genesis 5:24 NKJV

Six chapters into the bible, and only a few pages, humans are sinning and following their evil desires. God was sorry that he made man and his heart ached that we choose evil. Amongst all this evil and sin, one man found favor, Noah. He found grace in the eyes of the Lord. That should give us hope. No matter how crazy the world seems, if we seek God, God will find us and save us.

Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
—Genesis 6:5-8 NKJV

As people were living for the world, Noah was just. He was a good man. The bible says that Noah walked with God. Can you imagine the honor of walking with God?

Noah Pleases God
This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
—Genesis 6:9-10 NKJV

When the world is going crazy and you don’t know what to do, put your trust in God. God is steadfast and never changes. God will bless us, when we trust in him.

Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.

Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
—Psalm 2:11-12 NKJV
