Last weekend, I went to my son’s Winter Track Meet. It was the last one of the season. I watched every athlete bring their hours of training to run their races with excellence to honor Jesus Christ. These athletes run 5-6 days a week in the cold and rain to train. Some are new to running this year and some have ran for years. It was so inspiring to see the runners beat their Personal Records (PRs).
The next day we went to church, and Pastor Gary’s bible study was full of bible quotes about running. I told my husband that I would need to go home and listen to the bible teaching again, so I can write down all the bible passages about running.
I hope you will listen to this bible teaching, and it will be a blessing to you today! It was a huge blessing for me. This post includes some notes and bible verses from Pastor Gary’s bible teaching.
Pressing Toward the Goal
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
—Philippians 3:12-16 (NKJV)

Run With Endurance
The Race of Faith
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
—Hebrews 12:1-3 (NKJV)
Run With Joy
But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
—Acts 20:24 (NKJV)

—1 Corinthians 9:24 (NKJV)
Run With Purpose
Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
