Revere God’s Name

The first commandment in the bible is “You shall have no other Gods before me.” God created this whole amazing universe, and he doesn’t want us to worship false gods. There is only one God. Everything in this universe is by his design, including every person. When we cherish and respect God’s name, the sun of justice with rise with healing in its rays. God will reward those who honor his name. God will heal us with rays of sunlight. We will feel so energetic from God’s healing rays of sunlight that we will frolic outside like well-fed calves. Its a joy to watch baby animals being released from their stalls to play in the pasture. I picture happy people skipping around in fields smiling and throwing their hands up in the air praising God. The people who are joyfully skipping around will trample on the wicked, like ashes under the soles of our feet.

“But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.

I have been reading the bible every morning, and it makes my day so much better. I bought a devotional book for children, so I can read a devotion every morning to my kids before school. It may not always work perfectly. Yesterday, we barely made it to the bus stop on time, so we didn’t have time to read it. Today, we did. I loved seeing their beautiful smiles light up their faces. It was so nice to take a few minutes and read God’s word, instead of yelling at them to hurry up. I hope it makes their day go better, knowing that they have the most awesome power on their side. God will look out for them and protect them throughout their day. Cherish and respect God’s name. Revere God’s name.
