Love and Praise

Sing A Little Louder

Everyday worries and stress can bring you down. You feel burdened and heavy. Sometimes, you just need to be happy and laugh. After you spend time with friends, laughing and talking, how do you feel? I feel lighter. For a time, I have forgotten the worries of this world and felt happiness. I think that laughter is a gift from the Lord. “Blessed are you who weep now, For you shall laugh.” If we are going through a time of sorrow, the bible says we are blessed, and we shall laugh. It sounds like laughter can be a blessing from God.

Blessed are you who hunger now,
For you shall be filled.
Blessed are you who weep now,
For you shall laugh.
–Luke 6:21 (NKJV)

When you are feeling down, Satan aims to make you feel worse. Satan uses this chance to sneak into your head and whisper thoughts that bring you down even more.  If you know Satan’s plan, you can stop him. Lately, when I start feeling down, the song, “Raise A Hallelujah” starts playing my head. I cannot listen to this song without wanting to move along to the music.

“I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!”
–Lyrics from “Raise A Hallelujah”

Next time you feel down, listen to the song ,”Raise A Hallelujah” or another praise song that uplifts you. When your mouth is filled with laughter, you start singing and praising the Lord, your whole mood and attitude will shift.

Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
–Psalm 126:2 (NKJV)

When your heart focuses on all the Lord has done for us, you cannot help but feel happy and grateful. You want to praise the Lord. You want to thank the Lord. You want to smile and sing. A merry, joyful heart is good medicine. Don’t let Satan pull you down, sing a little louder.

A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones.
–Proverbs 17:22 (NKJV)
