Choosing Faith Each Day, David

Day 12: Don’t Worry, God Is In Charge

Today was a busy day.

I started the day by dropping off my son at a friend’s house. Then, I took my daughter to the Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor to check her out. He doctor said that nothing she has is cancerous. Praise God! I was hoping this trip would be an extra cautious check-up.

I met my friend. She offered to have my kids over, and I took her up on it this morning. I brought my daughter after her appointment and our whole bunch went to lunch. The kids had a great time, and I had a great time talking to her.

Thank God, for a clear diagnosis for my daughter!

Thank God for friends that help out!

We went to school to meet the teachers. They are both amazing.

Thank God for awesome teachers!

I called my mom. She is getting nervous about her surgery and wants to have a peaceful day tomorrow before her MRI. I am glad that she said what would make her comfortable.

We went to ‘back to school’ night and heard the teachers’ present for their classes. Both of them are great. I am excited for a good school year. I pray this year, that my son does his best. Out of all the praises for today, I focus on the one thing that was not perfect.

I read tonight’s bible verses feeling stressed out and honestly, wound-up. Why am I feeling this way? God has the power to turn all things around. My daughter is healthy. My kids have great teachers. Know what? “In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.” God can give me strength. You know what God can do to every worry that I have? God can do whatever he wants. God can change outcomes. God can strengthen me and my children, where we are weak. God can heal the sick. God is great in power. Everything under heaven and earth is his. God is the ruler of all things. Wealth, honor and success come from God. I don’t need to worry, because God is in charge.

David’s Prayer
David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

“Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
–1 Chronicles 29:10-13 (NIV)

Don’t waste another minute worrying. Praise God. Thank God for all he has done. Thank God for all that he will do. Thank God for being so great, kind and merciful to us. God is everlasting. Our lives are a mere breath, but God is forever.
