God's Character, Paul

You Can Be Filled With The Fullness Of God

Do you ever feel anxious or worried? Lately, I feel very anxious and worried. If I dwell on what is going on around me, I will be a nervous wreck. That is the exact opposite of what Christ wants us to do. God does not want us to worry about anything. The bible says, “Be anxious for nothing”. So, how exactly do we calm our worries?

We need to pray. We need to humble ourselves and pray to God. We should be thankful for all God has given us. Tell God all the reasons you are thankful. Then, we can humbly lay out each request before God. I imagine taking each worry, explaining my concern and placing it before God. The worries stack up, like a pile of books before the Lord. I unload all my worries and problems, and pray for peace. God will pick up my stack of worries and problems and give me peace. God will shield my heart. How can this possible work? God’s ways surpass our understanding. I assure you, it works. I don’t wonder why it works, I praise God for giving me peace and guarding my heart and mind through Jesus Christ.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
–Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

God loves us. God wants us to rely on him. God does not want us to consume ourselves with worry and fear. God’s love is beyond my comprehension. I pray that Christ will dwell in my heart through faith. I pray that my faith will be strongly rooted in Christ’s love. I pray that I will be able to comprehend the width, length, depth and height of God’s love for us. I pray to be filled with the fullness of God.

Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
–Ephesians 3:17-19 (NKJV)

When I look at my problems, I feel overwhelmed. I cannot imagine how they could be resolved. It is too much for me. My problems are not too much for God. This is the time that I need to hand over my problems to God to handle. I admit  there is too much for me to handle. I am thankful for the reminder that I need God. God is happy to take my problems and in return, God fills me with peace and guards my heart.

I hope that you know the love of Christ today, which passes all knowledge, so you can be filled with the fullness of God. I pray that God completes his good work in you today.
