Do you ever get so caught up in the stress of life that you forget it is healthy to stop and laugh? Yesterday, I was reminded of the blessings of friendships. I met up with friends that I met over 20 years ago in college. We are still friends. These are the type of friends that I can not see for years, and pick up right where we left off.
We have been to weddings and funerals. We have had miscarriages and babies. We have worked and stayed at home with our kids.
Everything in life has a season and a purpose. I am thankful for the time to laugh with friends yesterday. I think laughter heals us.
Everything Has Its Time
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
–Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 (NKJV)
I am thankful that God gave me good friends to laugh with. Lately there has been weeping and mourning, and I am so thankful for a few hours to heal my heart. Laughter makes my heart happy. A cheerful heart is good medicine.
A cheerful heart is good medicine
–Proverbs 17:22 (NIV)
During the Thanksgiving season, I love to be reminded of all the reasons God has given me to be thankful. I am so thankful for friends and laughter.
