Keep Believing and Have Faith

This morning, I went to Trader Joe’s in Ashburn, VA. I saw a box of ornament cookies with icing and sprinkles to decorate them. We used to make cut-out cookies with my mom every year. This year, she just finished 6 weeks of radiation and chemo pills for Stage 4 Glioblastoma, and she is at an assisted living facility. My daughter is 7 years old, and really wants to make cookies with her Mimi this year. So, I bought the kit to take to my mom’s, so we can make them together this year.

At the check-out, the guy said the cookie kit was fun. I smiled and said. “Oh good, is it?” Then, I don’t usually tell people about my mom, but I did for some reason. I told him that we usually make cookies with my mom, but she just finished chemotherapy, so I was hoping this would be fun for my kids to do with my mom this year. He asked how she was doing, and I said that she is weak, but we are hoping for the best. He asked me to wait there for a minute, so I said ok. He ran back with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and said these are for your mom. My eyes started to tear up, and I thanked him for being so kind. That was really nice.

I went to my car and sat there for a minute and I thought wow, God is really watching out for me. The gesture was so kind and good, it could only be from God.

The Lord God is my strength. He will give me energy and guide my steps. He will make me walk on high hills.

The Lord God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.
–Habakkuk 3:19 (NKJV)

God is always there waiting to surprise us with his goodness. When I feel stressed with everything in my life, God is there to lift me up again.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
–Hebrews 13:2 (NKJV)

I feel like lately God is bringing a lot of angels across my path to make me smile. God is telling me, hey I am still here for you. Keep believing and have faith.
