Colossians

Love is the Perfect Bond of Perfection

Happy Valentine’s Day! I am so thankful for the perfect love of God. What does it mean to love and be loved? God’s love for us is the perfect standard.

Traits of Love:

  • Tender mercies or sensitive compassion
  • Kindness or grace
  • Humility or modesty
  • Meekness or being humble
  • Longsuffering; bearing with one another or tolerant
  • Forgiving one another or redemption, as Christ forgave us

Loving others requires us to give. We give kindness with our words and actions. We are understanding and do not resent others. We don’t brag, but listen. We are gentle with our words. We are tolerant with each other, always looking for the bright side. We forgive and forget as Christ did for us. We don’t hold on to past hurts.

Love is the best virtue. Love is the bond of perfection. Let the peace of God rule in our hearts. Let our hearts be thankful.

Colossians3-12-15

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
–Colossians 3:12-15 (NKJV)

Wishing you abounding love today. I pray you receive kindness, and you model all the beautiful traits of love during your interactions today.  Love is the perfect bond of perfection.
