Let Go and Trust in God

This morning, I am once again reminded that God is in charge. I thank God for all the blessings in my life, big and small.

Five years ago, we moved into this house. We went through an excruciatingly difficult time. My husband’s contract ended, and he was out of work for 7 months. I needed an emergency surgery, and a week after my surgery, my dad died on Christmas Eve. I most remember the overwhelming stress and anxiety. I thought that I believed in God, but I had so much to learn. I had never really let go and given God control. The biggest lesson from this time and the years since, is to let go and trust God.

God has brought us through many difficult times. I try to not fight change anymore. I stop and pray, God I don’t know what your plans are for us, but I am sure they will be good. When I listen to God and do his will, he takes care of every detail. Things that I would never have imagined, are already set in place. That is how God works. God has the best plans for us. We just have to stop fighting for control, surrender to God, and thank God for all the blessings.

God created the earth with his power. God established the world with his wisdom. God stretched out the heavens by his understanding. When God utters a sound, a multitude of waters appear in the heavens. God controls the lightening and the rain. God has treasuries and brings out the wind. Without the knowledge go God, we are dull-hearted. When we put other things before God, those things will be put to shame.

He has made the earth by His power;
He has established the world by His wisdom,
And stretched out the heaven by His understanding.
When He utters His voice—
There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:
“He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightnings for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”
Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge;
Every metalsmith is put to shame by the carved image;
For his molded image is falsehood,
And there is no breath in them.
–Jeremiah 51:15-17 (NKJV)

Whatever is going on in our lives, let God fight for us. God will plead our case and fight for us. God will decide how to deal with his children.

Therefore thus says the Lord:
“Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you.
I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry.”
–Jeremiah 51:36 (NKJV)

God is mighty and powerful. God controls the world. Let God plead our case and take vengeance for us. Let go and trust God.

  1. I love this post and it is so relatable. Just yesterday, I was just talking with a friend about letting go. As human beings, we want to be in control. We want to know what is happening now and what’s next but we have to relinquish our desire to be in control, and allow God to have His way in our life 🙏🏿. Thank you for reminding us of the essence of letting go and trusting God. God bless you Karen 😊.
