We All Make Mistakes

Happy Friday!

Have you ever felt like you are going through the motions, but your heart is really not into a task? Many years ago, I attended a church where I just went through the motions, standing, sitting, kneeling, and not really getting connecting with God in my heart.

After going through difficult times, I pulled closer to God. Now, I actually feel when I am turning away from God. I get this peace washing over me, when I seek the Lord. I miss that feeling, when I get too busy or don’t carve out time to pray and read the bible.

Yesterday, I realized that I made a mistake to cover up my children’s mistake. At first, I started mentally yelling at myself. Then, I stopped. Now, I have God fighting for me. I prayed that God would forgive me and blot out my mistake.

God loves us. God knows that we make mistakes. We have to turn our hearts back to God, and we will be forgiven. God will blot out our sins. Our mistakes will be like a mist disappearing in the air.

I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions,
And like a cloud, your sins.
Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”
–Isaiah 44:22 (NKJV)

I used to spend so much time going over my mistakes. I would replay them in my head, until I felt miserable. Satan loves to remind us of our sins. God blots out our sins, so they blow away in the wind.

He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:

‘This people honors Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
–Mark 7:6-7 (NKJV)

Everyday, we have to seek God. Even when we think our hearts are in the right place, boom, we make a mistake. Instead, of simmering in our mistake, we can turn back to God. We all make mistakes. God takes us back, when our heart is in the right place.
