Yesterday was the two month marker of being quarantined. I think most of us are ready to phase ourselves back into the world.
Today, I opened up the bible to Amos. It says to seek good and not evil.
Do you think some people seek evil?
It is easy to fall off the path and keeping going in the wrong direction. This can be our thoughts or behaviors. Lately, I have been thinking about all the things that I wish I had. Instead, I should be thanking God for the things that we have.
We need to love good, so God can be with us. It says to hate evil and love good.
Seek good and not evil,
That you may live;
So the Lord God of hosts will be with you,
As you have spoken.
Hate evil, love good;
Establish justice in the gate.
It may be that the Lord God of hosts
Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
–Amos 5:14-15 (NKJV)
Quarantine Prayer
Dear God,
You see us. You know our thoughts.
I have seen so much anxiety, worry, divorce, anger, and frustration on social media.
I pray that you show us what is good.
I pray that each of us seeks good.
I pray that you protect us from evil.
I pray that we don’t listen to Satan, when he stirs up our doubts and fears.
I pray that we don’t fall off your path, and if we do, that we get right back up again.
I pray that you protect us. God, we need your protection.
God, fill us each with the Holy Spirit and help us to seek good, not evil.
Amen
