Happy Friday!
I am always intrigued by those God selects. Paul (Saul) is my favorite example. He was a persecutor of Christians, who was brought to his knees, and his heart forever changed. People feared the old Paul, like the run and hide type of fear. Paul’s heart was completely transformed by God. Paul was faithful after his transformation. He wrote letters to the early churches, that still encourage us today and bring us hope.
God selects the least likely people to raise up, so God’s power will shine through them. The change will be so drastic, that people will see it and declare God’s glory. He decides whom he will have mercy on and whom he will harden.
For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.
–Romans 9:17-18 (NKJV)
If you think you have done everything wrong and are not worthy of love, you are wrong. God wants you. God will love you, forgive you, blot out your sins. God forgives us and remembers our sins no more.
If God forgives us, why aren’t you forgiving yourself?
“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake;
And I will not remember your sins.
–Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV)
