God can turn our biggest mistakes into our biggest testimonies. Praise God for that!
If you are like me, you have made plenty of mistakes before knowing the Lord. It is the stuff that the song “Hard Fought Allelujah” is made of. God reached out to me, when I was at my lowest. I could have continued to try doing it on my own, or trust in the Lord.
Thankfully, I trusted in the Lord.
God meets you where you are at and lifts you up.
I chose to trust in God. I clung to that hope as Satan shouted in my head that it would never work, and I was stupid for believing it. Everything was falling apart around me, but the hope of God turning my life around was worth that sparkle of hope tugging at my heart.
I prayed and I trusted in God that my life would change. It did. When God comes through, He comes all the way through. There is no detail left out. God takes care of everything! When we put our hope in the Lord, God blesses us.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.”
—Jeremiah 17:7 NKJV
Trusting in God was a process. I had to release control of my life. When I released the urge to control everything, I gained freedom. God knows what is best for us. God knows the beginning and the end. We can fight it, or willingly enjoy the ride, knowing when God is in control, we will never be alone. With God, we will have the greatest gift possible. God fills us up, so we don’t want control. We want God.
Take Up the Cross and Follow Him
When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
—Mark 8:34-38 NKJV
If we go after what the world tells us to want, we are not following God. If we get everything we want on this earth and lose our soul in the process, we have nothing.
Chasing after worldly things leaves us empty, Trusting in God fills us up with hope, love and peace.
God lets us decide. Will you chose God or the World?
