The Value of Diligence

Life can be uncertain. We don’t always know how to spend our time, and what will produce results.

I read an interesting bible passage today. It said to sow your seed in the morning. I picture a farmer planting seeds, not knowing which ones will grow, but tending to each seed for the possibility of growth.

sow defined by Merriam Webster
to plant seed for growth especially by scattering
to set something in motion begin an enterprise

Sow can also mean to set something in motion and start an enterprise, a systematic purposeful activity.

Sometimes, we have to explore multiple avenues to find the right path for us. Or sometimes they can converge in ways we didn’t expect. Life is a journey, constantly changing and evolving.

We cannot understand why God does what He does. God has a plan and purpose.

Don’t lose hope, go out there and explore. Try new things, that might be the thing that works out the best. Be diligent and work hard. God has a plan for you!

The Value of Diligence

Cast your bread upon the waters,
For you will find it after many days.

Give a serving to seven, and also to eight,
For you do not know what evil will be on the earth.

If the clouds are full of rain,
They empty themselves upon the earth;
And if a tree falls to the south or the north,
In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie.

He who observes the wind will not sow,
And he who regards the clouds will not reap.

As you do not know what is the way of the wind,
Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child,
So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.

In the morning sow your seed,
And in the evening do not withhold your hand;
For you do not know which will prosper,
Either this or that,
Or whether both alike will be good.

—Ecclesiastes 11:1-6 NKJV
