When we are in the midst of walking through a difficult time. the hardest part is not knowing the future. If you have been reading my blog lately you know that right now, my husband does not have a job. It has only been a few days. I don’t know what is going to happen next. God is leading me to share my story as it unfolds. Even though my husband’s job did end, perhaps a new beginning is within reach.
God created me. God created you. He knows us by our name. He knows every hair on your head. He knew us, before He formed us in our mother’s womb.
And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

We are God’s adored children. Don’t be afraid of the future, when you trust in the One that has your future in His hands. God has ransomed you and me.
Ransom definition from Merriam Webster dictionary
: to deliver especially from sin or its penalty
: to free from captivity or punishment by paying a price
God ransomed us from our sin by sending Jesus to pay the price of our sin and die on the cross, so anyone who believes in Jesus will be saved.
But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.
O Israel, the one who formed you says,
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.

We will still have difficult times during our lives here on earth. When we walk through deep waters, God will be with us. We may still have to go through the deep waters and difficult rivers, but we won’t drown when God is with us. We may have to walk through fires of sorrow and anguish, but God won’t let us burn and be destroyed by the fires. God created us, and He won’t let us be overtaken.
When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Bring all who claim me as their God,

God knows our future. He holds our future in His hands. Which idols tell the future? What idols predict what will happen tomorrow? Where can witnesses be found for the predictions? Who will verify they spoke the truth? We are the witnesses. We serve God. We choose to know God. There is One God. God predicted the rescue of Israel, saved them and let the world know. No foreign god has done that.
From generation to generation, there has been only One eternal God. If you are in God’s care, nobody can take you away from Him. Nobody can undo what God put in place to save us.
Bring out the people who have eyes but are blind,
who have ears but are deaf.
Gather the nations together!
Assemble the peoples of the world!
Which of their idols has ever foretold such things?
Which can predict what will happen tomorrow?
Where are the witnesses of such predictions?
Who can verify that they spoke the truth?
“But you are my witnesses, O Israel!” says the Lord.
“You are my servant.
You have been chosen to know me, believe in me,
and understand that I alone am God.
There is no other God—
there never has been, and there never will be.
I, yes I, am the Lord,
and there is no other Savior.
First I predicted your rescue,
then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world.
No foreign god has ever done this.
you are witnesses that I am the only God,”
says the Lord.
“From eternity to eternity I am God.
No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.
No one can undo what I have done.”

God made a way for His people, making a dry path in a parted sea, leading His people to safety, while their oppressors drowned.
What does God have planned for your future? God is going to do something new. God has started creating a new path for us.
God gave us a way, when there was no way. Why would He leave us now? He won’t.
