Do you ever sometimes miss the whole point?
In this life, things won’t always go your way. God can use this time to help you grow and learn. Maybe God has better plans for you, but you are stuck and need a change. Sometimes we focus on the wrong things, missing the whole point.
The obstacle that you are facing, may be the thing that changes your life.
In the Bible, the Pharisees were so concerned about following the Jewish laws to the letter that they missed why Jesus was there. Highly educated, the Pharisees tried to trap Jesus with a question.
Pharisee as defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary
: a member of a Jewish sect of the intertestamental period noted for strict observance of rites and ceremonies of the written law and for insistence on the validity of their own oral traditions concerning the law
1st Commandment
“You must not have any other god but me. —Exodus 20:3 NLT
Jesus said to love The Lord with all your heart, mind and soul. And to love your neighbor as yourself. God loves us so much that he sent His only Son, Jesus, to save us and give us eternal life in heaven.
The Most Important Commandment
But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees with his reply, they met together to question him again. One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
—Matthew 22:34-40 NLT
Don’t miss the point, God loves us and wants every one of us saved and spending eternity in heaven with Him.
In the song at the bottom of this post, the lyrics are absolutely beautiful expressing God’s boundless love for us, “If you could see what Your soul means to me, You don’t have to earn my love, Your heart is all I need”. Meyta has an inspiring testimony about recovery and faith after being hit by a car.
Sing Your Praises
All I Need, Song by Meyta ‧ 2026
Lyrics
You play it off
Every time I smile right at you
You say I’m wrong
That time will let me know
You wear a mask
Hope others won’t really see you
But i know
Who you are when they don’t
You don’t have to prove
That you’re even worth it
Nothing you can do
To ever change my mind
If you could see
What your soul means to me
You don’t have to earn my love
Your heart is all I need
Why you counting your mistakes?
Wonder when you’ll get the chance
To finally know a love that lasts
But I’m here at your door knocking
Waiting for just one more chance
To finally say this all again
You don’t have to prove
That you’re even worth it
Nothing you can do
To ever change my mind
If you could see
What your soul means to me
You don’t have to earn my love
Your heart is all I need
If you could see
What your soul means to me
You don’t have to prove your worth
Will you just believe?
Oh one day you’ll capture your reflection
And you won’t recognize yourself
And you’ll say who is that?
And I’ll answer “you’re the you I always knew”
If you could see
What your soul means to me
You don’t have to prove your worth
Will you just believe?
