Have you ever had a situation where you did not know how the outcome would unfold? I am in one of those situations right now. Everything seems to be going well. I was strolling down the path of life, and then I hit a crack in the sidewalk. In that moment, when I tripped, I didn’t know if I would fall or regain my balance. I am there now. I can plan and worry and feel stressed…but will any of that help? No. I am choosing to pray. I pray that God will take my current situation, lift it in his hands and give my family a blessing.
In the bible, Jesus tells the people, that they have the light a little while longer. Walk while you have light, or the darkness may overtake you. He who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While they have light, belief in the light, so they can become sons of light.
Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.
–John 12:35-36 (NKJV)
I believe that Jesus was talking about himself, however I see another meaning as well. As we are strolling through life, thank God for the good times. Pray and ask God to help us, while we still have the ability to move forward and follow God’s plans. If something unexpected happens, we will blindly be trying to find our way back to the light of God. Trust in the light, move forward, even though you don’t know what will happen. Believe that God is guiding you to be a light to someone else.
When we don’t know how a situation will unfold, we can trust in God. Nothing is too hard for the maker of heaven and earth. Just because we cannot imagine a good outcome, does not mean that it cannot happen. Sometimes, you just have to believe that God has something better waiting for you that you have not even considered. I am going to believe in the light.
I am looking at my current situation and wondering how a good outcome can possibly unfold. Forgive my limited vision. God, you are almighty and all powerful. God, you can turn everything around in an instant. God, I pray that you fill me with the Holy Spirit, guide me and show me how to walk, while I have light. I will trust in the light and move forward, knowing that you are guiding my steps.
