Thank God For Your Infinite Value

This week, I have seen several examples of children being led down the wrong path and exploited. In the news, there was a 9-year old child, dressed as a drag queen. The child was dancing in front of grown men with money being thrown at him. There was an article in Teen Vogue stating that sex work is legitimate work, being targeted to young girls 10-18. I am pondering the question, how do we teach our children they are valuable? Their worth cannot be measured or bought at any price. I want God to show me what to teach my children, so they know their immense value.

Their time is valuable. It cannot be bought or sold. They should spend their time with people that will respect them, encourage them and build them up. They should never waste their time on people who want to take from them. Dignity. Respect. Money. Their bodies were created by God. Their bodies are temples of God. Their bodies should be honored and treated with the utmost respect. The Spirit of God lives in them. Their value is infinite. Nobody should ever be used physically, emotionally or financially.

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
–1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NKJV)

People will try to make you feel less than what you are. They may not like the way you look. Your skin color. Your weight. Your clothes. That is their problem, not yours. You were made perfect by the Lord. When they put you down, and make you feel bad, walk away. They are telling you who they are and what they think of you. You do not have to believe what they say, but do believe who they are. They do not value you, so walk away. God values you. God sees you as worthy. God can take you and use you for great things. God dwells within you. Don’t defile God’s temple. Your body is special and important. Pure. “If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.”

Do not spend time with people that take from you or use you. A friend does not charge you to spend time with them. Using our body for anything other than God’s works, dishonors the Lord who lives in us. It dishonors our bodies, which are a blessing from the Lord. You cannot be bought for any price. You are too valuable. Jesus died on the cross to forgive our sins. God will forgive you from whatever you have done. Our sins are a debt that has been paid. God sent down his only son, Jesus, to die on the cross. Why? To forgive our sins. ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ The price has been paid for our sins.

He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”
–Luke 24:6-7 (NKJV)

As Jesus was being led away to his crucification, he said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.” Society is telling us to mind our own business, while they are trying to exploit our sons and daughters. They want to use them and throw them away. God did not create us to be used. God has plans for each of us. Jesus knew we would struggle, when he said that we should weep for yourselves and our children. We don’t have to do it alone.

But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
–Luke 23:28 (NKJV)

Turn to God. Do not listen to society and neighbors that laugh at you for not going along with their agenda. It is not easy to go against society and what everyone is telling you to do. Follow God. You don’t have to do it alone. God has good plans for you. God will never devalue you. When you follow God, you will get what you need and peace in your heart. Others may have billions of dollars and what seems to be a great life, but they will envy you. They won’t understand the peace that you have, because of your relationship with God. Thank God for your infinite value.

Prayer

Dear God,

The world is telling my children that they are not valuable. God, I pray that you will let them know their infinite worth and value. Praying that you fill me with the Holy Spirit to tell them their worth. praying that the Holy Spirit will show them their gifts and how to use them for God’s glory. Thank you God for showing us how valuable we are through Jesus.

Amen
