Luke, Paul, Trusting in God

Let Go, and Let God Fight For You

If you are like me, you have mistakes. I have done things that you regret. I wish that I could go back and change them, but I cannot. Luckily, God forgives me. God forgives you. God gives us second chances, with no strings attached. God is that good.

People on earth are not so forgiving. They remember every mistake that you make, and some never forget your mistakes. They keep your mistakes alive, by reminiscing about your past mistakes constantly. They make sure that nobody will forget your mistakes.

In the bible, Saul could not speak about Jesus in Jerusalem. The people remembered how Saul stood there and approved the death of the martyr Stephen. The Lord spoke to Saul, telling him to quickly leave, because they will not receive Saul’s testimony.

‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, for they will not receive your testimony concerning Me.’
–Acts 22:18 (NKJV)

Sometimes, you didn’t even do anything bad, people just cannot reconcile who you are now with the little kid they once knew. Jesus said that no prophet is accepted in his own country. If this is true for Jesus, how true is it for the rest of us? Some people cannot or will not change their perceptions. Who you were, is who you will always be. Their minds do not allow room for you to change and grow.

Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country.”
–Luke 4:24 (NKJV)

Instead of trying to fight against the preconceived notions, accept that their opinion will not change. No matter what you do. Stop fighting it. Give your worry to God and seek to do God’s will. God will protect you. You don’t stand a chance, but God can do anything on your behalf. Let go, and let God fight for you.
