Have you ever looked at your life and just felt overwhelmed? I feel that way today. I spent the morning trying to find a solution, trying to will myself out of my problems. It didn’t work. It just made me feel, well, overwhelmed.
Instead, I should have been praying to God. I should have gone to God first and trusted in God. Daniel is such a great example. He always went to God first. He was so faithful.
Blessed be the name of God forever. God has wisdom and might. Whatever you are facing, God can help. However big our problems seem, God is bigger. It is hard to grasp that God can turn everything around for us. God changes the time and the seasons. God removes kings and promotes kings. God gives wisdom, Do you ask for God to give you wisdom? God gives knowledge to those who have understanding. You may understand something, yet God can give you even more knowledge. God reveals deep and secret things. This is so fascinating. What deep and secret things? We don’t know, because they are deep and secret. God knows. God may even reveal some of the secrets to us, if we are faithful. God knows what is in the darkness. God knows what we should fear. God can also protect us from what lies hidden in the darkness. Why? The light dwells within God. God can light up the dark, revealing the hidden things.
Daniel answered and said:
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.
And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.
“I thank You and praise You,
O God of my fathers;
You have given me wisdom and might,
And have now made known to me what we asked of You,
For You have made known to us the king’s demand.”
–Daniel 2:20-23 New King James Version (NKJV)
When God answers your prayers, praise him. Thank God, the one and only God, for wisdom and might.
Prayer
Dear God,
I look at my problems and feel overwhelmed. God, I look to you for wisdom and might. I pray that you reveal deep and secret things to me, that will help me overcome what I cannot see. God, I pray that you shine your light in the darkness and give me wisdom on how to live my life.
Amen
