Choosing Faith Each Day, Paul

Stand Perfect and Complete In All the Will of God

Each morning, my kids read a devotional book. This morning, we were running late, so I read it. I also started saying a prayer with my kids, after reading it. Lately, I have been praying that we have hearts and minds like Jesus Christ.

For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
–1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV)

Honestly, I cannot fathom what having a heart and mind of Christ would be like, but I know it is purely good. Everyone is more peaceful after I pray in the morning. They even remind me, if I forget to say a prayer. That tells me that the Holy Spirit is indeed filling us each morning, because if we don’t pray, we are missing something.

When I start my day with the Holy Spirit, everything is easier. I wish that everything that I thought and did was Christ-like. It is not. I need all the help that I can get! The bible tells us that whatever we do, do it in the names of Jesus, giving thanks to God.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
–Colossians 3:17 (NKJV)

I know that I will make mistakes. When I start my day, with the Lord, asking the Holy Spirit to fill me up, I know that I will do so much better. I would love to stand perfect and complete in the will of God. The bible verse says that intensely praying for ourselves and others will help you stand perfect and complete in the will of God.

Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
–Colossians 4:12 (NKJV)

I choose to try and start my day with God. I pray that the Holy Spirit fills me up. I pray that I will have the heart and mind of Christ. I pray that one day I will “stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”
