Daniel, Genesis, God's Character, Luke, Matthew, Psalm

God is Sovereign

What does the word sovereign mean? It means to have supreme power. God has supreme power over the universe. God decides. Not you. Not me. Only one person determines the outcome. God.

Our God in heaven can do whatever he pleases.

But our God is in heaven;
He does whatever He pleases.
–Psalm 115:3 (NKJV).

People can try to harm you. God is the one who decides what happens. God can turn around the evil meant against me. God can turn evil intentions into good works that benefit many people.

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
–Genesis 50:20 (NKJV)

God changes the times and the seasons. God removes kings and raises up kings. God gives wisdom and knowledge.

And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
–Daniel 2:21 (NKJV)

With God, nothing is impossible.

“For with God nothing will be impossible.”
–Luke 1:37 (NKJV)

With God, all things are possible.

But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
–Matthew 19:26 (NKJV)
