Daniel, Paul

God is Bigger Than All the Criticisms, Doubts and Fears

Have you ever had a day where you feel like no matter what you do, it will be wrong in the eyes of others? I had a day like that yesterday. I was in a difficult situation, so I tried my best and did my best to handle it. Others did not like the way I handled it.

Some days we face difficulties. I was anxious, and I prayed to God and felt peace. I knew God would fight for me.

God’s grace is sufficient. My strength is made perfect in my weakness. I would rather boast about my flaws, so the power of Christ would rest in me.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
–2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)

I prayed and repeated a bible verse, until I fell asleep last night. It would be nice if I was perfect. I am not. Sometimes, no matter what I do, others will find fault or a way to blame me. God will fight for me against my enemies and save me. God is bigger than all the criticisms, doubts and fears.

for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
–Deuteronomy 20:4 (NKJV)

This morning, I was thinking about the verses in Daniel, where his friends were going to be thrown in the fiery furnace. They told the king, “we have no need to answer you in this matter”. They answered to God, not the people around them, not even the king. They answered to God. I answer to God. The people around me may criticize me, and when they do, I will look to God and pray. I know that God will fight my battles and give me love, peace and a sound mind.

I trust that God’s outcome will be the best outcome. God may deliver us, and God may not. God is still sovereign, and his ways are the best.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”
–Daniel 3:16-18 (NKJV)

I pray that the Lord’s will be done. I pray that I am worthy of the Lord. I will make mistakes and do things that do not please others. I pray that what I do will please the Lord. I pray that I walk worthy of the Lord.

that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God
–Colossians 1:10 (NKJV)

God’s grace is sufficient for me. If Daniel’s friends could walk in the fiery furnace praising God, having no idea if they would live or die, I can praise God through the storm. No matter what happens, God’s grace will be sufficient for me.

God will walk with me and fight against my enemies and save me.

God’s will is greater than anything that I can do on my own. God is sovereign.

I pray that I will walk worthy of the Lord.

I am so thankful to be one of God’s children. God is bigger than all the criticisms, doubts and fears.
