Good Morning! Yesterday, we were spoiled with mild temperatures and sunshine. It was almost 60 degrees. Compared to yesterday, this morning felt very chilly and it might rain this afternoon. I will focus on seeing the sunshine now:).
Have you ever promised yourself that you will be happy one day?
I will be happy when I get married…
I will be happy when I get a house…
I will be happy when I have a baby…
I will be happy when my financial situation is better…
We tell ourselves that happiness is based on circumstances that we cannot control. What if we decide to just be happy where we are right now? Embrace your imperfect self. Thank God for all you have.
Your circumstances can change, but you are still you. I am happy to be married. I am so thankful for my children. I love my house. Even though my prayers were answered with each of these life events, I still have the same doubts and fears that I have always had. Some things are so ingrained within myself, I don’t know how I will ever change. Can I really change?
There is more to my life than what I can see. I have such limited vision. I can’t see how I can possibly change. God tells us not to lose heart. Each day, I see a few more gray hairs, as the mirror reminds me I am getting older. Despite my outward apperance aging, my soul is being renewed each day. The things that I see are temporary. The things that I cannot see are eternal.
Seeing the Invisible
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
–2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NKJV)
I can change. I cannot change through my own will power or perseverance. I can change because of what I cannot see. God’s power is eternal. God can make the impossible, possible. I need to rely on God to give me strength. God is my strength. God can change us.
For sure the word of God can change us . It is not an overnight thing. As we continue to submit to Jesus Christ and allow him to process us then we will see changes.
