Good morning. Each day, we learn of new cases of the Coronavirus. Each day, restrictions increase. We were given the freedom, but we aren’t adhering to the warnings. We were given guidelines, but not everyone follows them.
It sounds like human nature. God gave us freedom, so we could fully decide to follow his laws and love him. Yet, we stray. We sin. We do things that do not honor the Lord.
I love my kids. They make mistakes during the day, but that never changes my love for them. At night, my husband will quietly open the doors to their rooms. He will check on them to see if they are peacefully sleeping, before he goes to sleep.
God does the same for us. We make mistakes. We act like stereotypical teenagers, defiant and self-absorbed. God still loves us. He waits for us to come back to him. At night, God checks on us too. Our Father sends his angels to walk about the earth to make sure we are resting quietly.
So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.”
–Zechariah 1:11 (NKJV)
No matter what is going on in our lives, God is there. The world is a very uncertain place right now. God is with us each, when we pray for the presence of the Holy Spirit. At night, I feel reassured to know that God has his angels walking around the earth checking on us, while we are sleeping. My heart feels at peace knowing that angels watch over us while we sleep at night.
