Good morning. I hope that you are having a bright, sunny morning.
This morning, I woke up early. The kids were still sleeping. I walked outside, and the air was crisp and cool. The sun shone brightly. The flowers on the trees are turning into bright green leaves. The beauty of God is all around us. We are surrounded by the beautiful things that God has made.
The world has been so busy, being busy. Now, most of us can stay home. We pray for the essential workers to stay safe and for the sick to heal. Those of us at home can spend time with our families. We can appreciate all the beauty around us.
God created the earth. God brings us sun and rain. God marked where the water stopped, and the land started. I cannot wait go the beach again and hear the sound of waves crashing on the shore.
During this Coronavirus Pandemic, we have to wait. We wait until parks open again. We wait to return to work and school. We wait to spend time with our friends. We wait for the time when masks are no longer suggested or required.
God made our earth. If we are waiting, shouldn’t we be waiting on the Lord? God will guide us and show us what to do. It doesn’t matter what the media says or what anybody in this world says. God is in control.
Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain?
Or can the heavens give showers?
Are You not He, O Lord our God?
Therefore we will wait for You,
Since You have made all these.
–Jeremiah 14:22 (NKJV)
Stay focused on the Lord. The one that we cannot see, controls everything that we do see. Do not give up. Do not lose heart. When we look in the mirror, we see ourselves growing older. Inward, our hearts are being renewed everyday. The things that we see are temporary. The things that we do not see are eternal.
Seeing the Invisible
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
–2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NKJV)
During this Coronavirus Pandemic, it seems like the world has stopped. It hasn’t. God is still in control. Trust in the unseen. Trust in the almighty power of the Lord.
