Are you ever faced with a challenge that seems impossible? Some days, I am faced with challenges that seem insurmountable.
My mind gets bombarded with doubts. How can I possibly do this? What will people say? It takes so much courage to stand for God, when the world is angry at you.
In the bible, Daniel’s friends, faithfully stand for God. They refuse to worship false gods. The King gives them one last chance. They refuse. The King is furious and tells the guards to turn up the fire seven times higher and take these men into the fiery furnace, because they did not follow his command.
Saved in Fiery Trial
Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.
—Daniel 3:19 (NKJV)
The furnace was so hot, that the guards died, walking Daniel’s friends near it. The faithful men walk into the flames. They decided to honor God, even if it meant dying in a fiery furnace.
Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.
—Daniel 3:22 (NKJV)
As the King and his royal court watched the fire, they saw a fourth man, who looked like the son of God. The King ordered them out of the furnace. Everyone stared at the men that fire had no power over. Not a hair on their heads were singed, their clothes were intact, and they didn’t smell of fire.
And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.
—Daniel 3:27 (NKJV)
When we do God’s work, it does not matter if it is impossible for us, as humans. With God, everything is possible. God can equip us, so we succeed, against all odds. So, if you feel like God is calling you to do an impossible task, you may be right. God can shine through us and make impossible things happen. There is power in faith.
Thank God that Jesus Christ is still the fourth man in our fiery trial that we go through. All our impossibilities shall into victories
