How do you feel about waiting?
I try to be patient, but sometimes, its really hard to wait. I wait in line at the store. I wait for my children’s practice to end. I wait for responses. For these things, there is an end in site. I know the wait won’t be forever.
What about when you don’t know how long you have to wait? I waited to meet the right man to marry, and then we waited 6 six years until my husband and I welcomed a baby. Twelve years ago, my husband lost his job. We had to wait 7 months until he found a new one equivalent in role and salary. Waiting can be difficult, to say the least. Looking back, every wait was worth it. God has been so good to us!
The waiting won’t end anytime soon. All I can do is my best and give the rest to the Lord.
God is merciful.
Merriam-Webster defines mercy as a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion.
God shows us compassion.
Merriam-Webster defines compassion as sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it.
Every morning God shows us new mercies and new compassion. Every day is a new chance. We should put our hope in the Lord and wait. God will be good to those who wait quietly on Him.
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the Lord.—Lamentations 3:22-26 (NKJV)
