Some days you think you have been doing a pretty good job following the Lord. And then, a life event hits. Instead of feeling complete calm during the storm, you still feel a bit off center. You know the Lord has you and will take care of you. Yet, you still feel a bit of heaviness and uncertainty as you move forward, because you don’t know what the future holds.
God helps you through it, but it doesn’t mean you won’t still go through it.
So, we bend our knees in prayer and ask God what he wants us to do. And we wait for an answer and ask for peace while we wait.
We could walk forward in our own way, but we would rather ask God how to move forward. Living your life for God and His eternal purpose is much more fulfilling than trying to please the world. The world judges you and will drop you at a whim. God will hold you close and carry you through your difficult time, teach you along the way and take you to a better place.
O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself;
It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.
O Lord, correct me, but with justice;
Not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing.
—Jeremiah 10:23-24 NKJV
Prayer
God, direct our steps.
Help us to clearly follow the path that You have set out.
Help us to follow your will and not our own.
Lord, correct us with justice, so we are not destroyed.
God, we pray for grace, because You are so good.
We don’t deserve it.
Praying for peace and settled hearts as we wait.
–Amen
