Let God’s Light Shine In You

My favorite type of day is when the sun shines, and the weather is cool with a gentle breeze. The sunlight brightens up the world around us.

If you are walking through a difficult time, know that there is a light. God is the light, and He can fill our hearts with love, take away the heaviness we feel and make it lighter to carry our burdens. We were never meant to carry it all alone. 

One day, in heaven, we will see God. There will be no sun nor moon, God will shine so brightly and be the everlasting light. 

If God can light up the heavens with His glory, what can He do here on earth? His light can shine inside of our hearts and give us peace as we walk through the unknown, because we know the One that is walking with us. Let God’s light shine in you.

God the Glory of His People

“The sun shall no longer be your light by day,
Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;
But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light,
And your God your glory.

Your sun shall no longer go down,
Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;
For the Lord will be your everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning shall be ended.

Also your people shall all be righteous;
They shall inherit the land forever,
The branch of My planting,
The work of My hands,

  1. Karen, I really love the way you’ve described God’s light here. There are times when life can feel pretty heavy, and I think it’s so easy to focus on the darkness around us rather than remembering that God’s light is still shining, even when we can’t see it clearly.

    And I especially love the reminder that we were never meant to carry our burdens alone. We don’t always know what the next step looks like, but we don’t have to know when we know Who is walking beside us.

    That picture from Isaiah of God Himself being our everlasting light is such a powerful one. What a promise that is. Thanks for sharing this, Karen. A lovely reminder that even in the uncertain places, God’s light hasn’t gone anywhere. 🙏
