I have had friends and family members that have turned on me. The first time I went through this, it was difficult to understand why someone you love and care for would tell lies about you, spread vicious rumours and try to destroy your life and reputation. At the time, I thought they would. Unfortunately, people can destroy lives with lies. God can also change it all around. God can change outcomes.
As I get older, I have realized how rough times make me stronger and bring the truth more clearly into focus. God is in charge. So, now I pray to God to fight my battles for me in the heavenly realms. I don’t want to sink down to their level and gossip and tell lies. Honestly the truth is enough to speak for itself, and I know God knows the truth. Lies can only be told for a time, before they implode and the truth seeps out into the open. If and when He chooses to, God can reveal the truth.
Today, I read Lamentations.
People can wish us the worst, but only God can make those things happen. Sometimes God blesses us, when other people want harm us.
God can send destruction and goodness. God can save us from destruction.
When we get punished for our sin, we shouldn’t complain. We should turn to the Lord and examine our ways. What are we doing that does not please God? We should repent our sins to God. He may even have mercy on us.
Don’t fear your enemies, fear God.
Who can command things to happen without the Lord’s permission?
Does not the Most High
send both calamity and good?
Then why should we, mere humans, complain when we are punished for our sins?
Instead, let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the Lord.
Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in heaven and say,
“We have sinned and rebelled, and you have not forgiven us.
My name is Karen Jean. I started this blog in 2018, after I fully accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
