Isaiah, Trusting in God

God Can Make The Impossible, Possible

Last night, I watched the movie, “Breakthrough”. Wow, it was an amazing testimony to the power of faith, prayer and God’s almighty power. The movie was based on a true story and shows how God continuously works miracles in our lives, even now in 2019. Have you ever had a miracle in your life? I have.

At times in my life, I struggled and fought and caused myself stress and anxiety. Then, I finally stopped trying to do it on my own and turned to God. I started praying. I let go of control. God was waiting for me and answered my prayers. Not once. Many times. Big prayers and small prayers.

Sometimes, I still look at where I am at and wonder how things will ever change. I look at the bills piling up, with no end in site. I look at all the things that I want to do. I dream of a vacation house. And, I think, you are crazy. None of that will ever happen. Or, will it? With God, anything is possible. Just because I cannot see it, does not mean that all our dreams will not come true. And, maybe they won’t. Maybe we will get just what we need and be happy and at peace.

I give it all to God. I have to check in with God and ask God to keep me on track. Am I doing God’s will? What can I work on today? How can I serve God today? What does God want me to do today? I know that whatever happens, my inner peace comes from God.

Sometimes, when I look at my situation, I see everything that I do not have. Instead, I should be looking up to God, and seeing all that God has given me. The maker of heaven and earth is far greater than everything I see around me. In the bible, the people looked around and trusted in what they could see. They saw endless chariots and strong horseman. They chose to trust in what they could see. They were so mesmerized by what they saw, they did not look to God. They did not trust in God. They did not seek God.

It is foolish to trust in the material things around you, instead of putting your trust in God. Your eyes can see everything around you and convince you that you will never win. You have to remind yourself of the greatness of God. Nothing is impossible for God. God loves to show up and turn the impossible into his good work.

The Folly of Not Trusting God
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help,
And rely on horses,
Who trust in chariots because they are many,
And in horsemen because they are very strong,
But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel,
Nor seek the Lord!
–Isaiah 31:1 (NKJV)

It is easy to get consumed by the world. I see all that I do not have, when I start comparing myself to others. Instead, I should be looking up to God and seeing all that God has given me and know that God’s grace is enough. Maybe others are looking at me and wondering how I could possibly be happy with less. Maybe they wish they could find that happiness too. Stop trying to control your life. Let go. Give it all to God. You can find everything you need with God. God can make the impossible, possible.
