Daniel, Love and Praise

Day 15: Thanking God For His Mercy

My mom had surgery yesterday. They removed 78% of the tumor from her brain. It went well. We were able to see her last night. She was smiling and talking. She said that she felt so much better and wondered how long she had the tumor.

Out of all the possible outcomes, this was a great outcome! I give all the glory and praise to God. I don’t claim to know everything. I don’t pretend to know the future. God is in charge. I thank God for the successful surgery. I thank God for making her feel better.

I thank God for hearing all the prayers for my mom. I thank God for answering our prayers. We do not make requests and pray because we are righteous, but because God has great mercy. We thank God for the compassion and forgiveness shown toward us,  when God has the power to punish or harm us.

We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.
–Daniel 9:18-19 (NIV)

Thank God that my mom is so much better! I pray that God will continue to lead us on the journey ahead. Hospital. ICU. Rehabilitation. Chemo. All the logistics. Praying to enjoy these moments of praise and joy for my mom’s recovery. Thanking God for his mercy. Thanking God for answering prayers.

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for your great mercy! Thank you for comforting us during the past two weeks. Praying that you hold my family together with your great love. Praying that you guide us through the next steps. Praying for your grace. Praying that we let go of control and trust in you, God.

Amen
