It is easy to get so busy in life, that you can no longer make time for others. I remember asking my sister a few years ago, if we could get together. She said that she was too busy for the entire month and could not get together. I remember being surprised that she could not take a few hours during the entire month for our families to get together. I came to the realization that some people do not want to make time for you, but they want you to be there only when it suits their schedule. It is better to know who will and who will not make time for you. If you have a family that makes time for you and love you, treasure them and realize that not everyone does.
Where I live, there are travel sports, regular sports, music lessons, boy scouts and girl scouts, enrichment, karate, vacations, and on and on. You can consume every minute and weekend running from thing to thing.
Sometimes, we get so busy that we overlook those in need. We don’t have time for them, because our lives are already so busy. We just cannot handle another thing.
Does God’s love live in those who have more than enough and close their hearts and ignore those in need? God wants our actions to speak louder than the words we say.
But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

If you see someone in need today, maybe a smile or word of encouragement, stop and take a minute to help others and show God’s love. Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
