Mark, Trusting in God

God Shows Up Completely For His Children

Good Morning! I live in Virginia, so schools are closed tomorrow for Super Tuesday. Everyone has an opinion about our current president. I wish that everyone spoke so boldly for Jesus Christ.

The bible says that the gospel must be preached to all nations. With the internet and social media, this seems possible. Some people fear to speak about Jesus. It is not always easy, especially when there are hostile listeners. In some countries, people are killed for speaking about Jesus. I am so thankful to live in the United States, where I get to vote and I can talk about Jesus.

The bible says that if the apostles get arrested for sharing the gospel, they should trust in the Holy Spirit. They should not practice a speech or worry about their defense. When they need to speak, The Holy Spirit will give them the words to say. They were advised to let go of themselves and surrender to God.

And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
–Mark 13:10-11 (NKJV)

In the morning, I say a prayer with my kids after we read a devotional. Each morning, I pray that God will guide our thoughts, words and actions. I spent a huge part of life, practicing what I would say. I was a nervous wreck. I always worried that I would say the wrong thing or I wondered if I did say the wrong thing. I would lose sleep over things I said or meant to say. Now, I trust that the Holy Spirit will guide me. If I do something wrong, I pray that God will fix it. I just keep giving everything to God. It is utter torture when a person tries to control your life. It is a blessing when you ask God to take control of your life. God is greater than anything on earth, so no person will succeed against our Lord. My vision is so limited. When I pray to God, he answers my prayers and adds things that I did not know that I needed. God shows up completely for his children. God will never turn against you. God is always waiting for us.
