Good Afternoon! So, it is day 14 of being home. The news is confusing. Is the country not doing enough to stop the spread of the virus? Or, is the country being too cautious? Did Virginia make the decision to close schools too soon? Yes. No. Maybe so? All this information is swirling around and getting overwhelming and confusing. We are told to trust the experts. I do trust their knowledge and hard work.
All our knowledge and wisdom comes from the Lord. God raises up kings and brings them down at his will.
God has made the earth with his power.
God established the world with his wisdom.
God stretched out the heavens with his understanding.
At the sound of God’s voice, there are a multitude of waters in the heavens.
God controls the water vapor in the air.
God makes lightening for the rain.
God causes the wind to blow.
God has given us our knowledge. God has given us gifts. Everything that we have is from the Lord. If we think knowledge is our own, our hearts are not wise. Without the knowledge of God in our hearts, we are empty.
He has made the earth by His power;
He has established the world by His wisdom,
And stretched out the heaven by His understanding.
When He utters His voice—
There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:
“He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightnings for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”
Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge;
Every metalsmith is put to shame by the carved image;
For his molded image is falsehood,
And there is no breath in them.
–Jeremiah 51:15-17 (NKJV)
It is ok not to know what is going to happen. If we trust in the Lord, our hearts will be overflowing with peace and goodness through all the uncertainty around us.
