I opened up the bible to read about tithes. There were times in our past, when we didn’t tithe, and those were not good times. Now, we tithe every month, and thank God for having a job to be able to tithe, or give money to our church. When we started trusting in God, we tithed, even when we didn’t have anything extra. God always made sure that we had enough. God holds everything together, our house, our cars, and our lives. When you give to God first, God makes everything work out. The bible says that God will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing, that there won’t be enough room to receive it. I have a hard time wrapping my head around that statement, or even picturing what they would look like. It does give me a glimmer of hope.
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.”
—Malachi 3:10 (NKJV)
God has all these blessings that he wants to give us. I cannot even imagine what these blessings are. I just know that God takes away my anxiety, worries and fears and gives my heart peace. I love the feeling of peace. The whole world can be going crazy, but I look up to God and trust in him, and everything is well with my soul.
There is a Book of Remembrance. Can you imagine the Almighty God writing your name in a book? That is an awesome thought! I am valuable enough to God to write my name in his book.
God will make us jewels. A jewel is a precious stone, typically a single crystal or piece of a hard lustrous or translucent mineral cut into shape with flat facets or smoothed and polished for use as an ornament. God will refine us and make us beautiful.
A Book of Remembrance
Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another,
And the Lord listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the Lord
And who meditate on His name.
“They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”
Then you shall again discern
Between the righteous and the wicked,
Between one who serves God
And one who does not serve Him.
—Malachi 3:16-18 (NKJV)
