God's Character, Love and Praise, Psalm, Trusting in God

Mediate On God’s Good Works

Sometimes, I find myself worrying about situations or people in my life. Some situations seem utterly impossible. I cannot imagine how it will possibly work out.

These are the times, that I need to take a step back.

God causes judgement to be heard from heaven. When God is angry, no one dares to stand in his presence. The earth fears the Lord and remains still. God will judge us all and deliver the oppressed.

You, Yourself, are to be feared;
And who may stand in Your presence
When once You are angry?
You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
The earth feared and was still,
When God arose to judgment,
To deliver all the oppressed of the earth.
—Psalm 76:7-9 (NKJV)

God is in charge. No situation is too hard for the Lord. God can handle our worries and calm us. Not one person on this earth can succeed above the Lord. So, why worry?

When God is on our side, armies fall at his great name. No person can overcome us, when God is with us. God fights our battles for us in the heavenly realms. God heals us.

When you start to worry and feel like there is no way  to succeed, stop. Look up to the Lord! God can change us slowly or in an instant. Mediate on God’s good works. Our God does wonders in our lives.

I will also meditate on all Your work,
And talk of Your deeds.
Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary;
Who is so great a God as our God?
You are the God who does wonders;
You have declared Your strength among the peoples.
You have with Your arm redeemed Your people,
The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
The waters saw You, O God;
The waters saw You, they were afraid;
The depths also trembled.
The clouds poured out water;
The skies sent out a sound;
Your arrows also flashed about.
The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind;
The lightnings lit up the world;
The earth trembled and shook.
Your way was in the sea,
Your path in the great waters,
And Your footsteps were not known.
You led Your people like a flock
By the hand of Moses and Aaron.
—Psalm 77:12-20 (NKJV)
