When you plan for the future, do you always pray about it first? I try. Sometimes, I realize that I am making plans without asking God first or praying about it. My mind starts wondering and dreaming, and I forget to stop and ask God, is this what you want me to do?
When our plans do not line up with God’s plans, guess whose plan succeeds? God’s plans always win. I have learned that there is no sense fighting God’s will for us. I just create frustration and impatience thinking that I can do it my way.
When I do God’s will, my plans are blessed and will succeed. When I try and do my own thing and rally up people to follow me, it is like the blind leading the blind. In the end, we will all fall into a ditch.
But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
—Matthew 15:13-14
Too often, I am reminded that the things of this world do not go to heaven with us. We leave everything behind. When we do God’s will, we will be remembered fondly. Keep praying and make sure all of your plans are rooted in Jesus.
