Galatians, Jeremiah

Trust In God

God is all powerful and full of glory. God fills this space in our hearts and lives that nothing else can fill. When you know God, your heart is full of calmness and peace.

God has carried me through tough times and happy times. When I follow God’s timing and do his will, God can work in my life. I have to let go of my timing and trust in his perfect timing.

When I do God’s will, my heart is at peace. Then, I go out into the world and realize that I don’t fit into the world. I also do not fit into the role of a perfect Christian. I struggle and make mistakes. I am sure people judge my mistakes and say, “And, she calls herself a Christian!”

We live in a sinful world. Nobody is perfect. God wants every person on this earth to seek him. God loves each of us. God picked Paul, who persecuted Christians, and turned him into an apostle. God will take you, wherever you are at, and turn your mistakes into your testimony.

But they were hearing only, “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy.” And they glorified God in me.
—Galatians 1:23-24 NKJV

Christians ask for God’s forgiveness and seek Jesus in their hearts. Christians recognize that they are sinful and need God. Only God is perfect. The only perfect place is heaven.

I don’t fit into the world, so what is the answer? When I seek God, my heart is at peace. So, I should worry about what God thinks of me and not how others judge me. It doesn’t matter what people in this world think of me. You cannot please people in this world and God. It only matters what God thinks of me. My focus should be on pleasing God. And, God will take care of everything else.

For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
—Galatians 1:10 NKJV

We need to pray that our hearts never become too hard, that we stop listening to God. If we keep trusting in ourselves above God and make decisions that please ourselves, but not God, God will let us make the choice of choosing the world over him. This is a sad choice.

Thus says the Lord:
“Stand in the ways and see,
And ask for the old paths, where the good way is,
And walk in it;
Then you will find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
Also, I set watchmen over you, saying,
‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’
But they said, ‘We will not listen.’
—Jeremiah 6:16-17 NKJV

I have lived life trusting in God and lived life trying to do everything myself. In the past, I have tried to forge my own path. I listened to others advice, and it was a chaotic mess. When I was at a really low point, my husband lost his job and my dad died. I decided to trust in God. Have you ever been in a low place? Life goes silent. Everyone vanishes, except God.

God said I am here for you, trust in me.

I have held onto God’s promises for my life. I hold onto what I cannot see, yet I can feel God’s peaceful presence in my heart and know God is with me. God has never let me down. When you live your life for God, God comes all the way through and takes care of every detail. God is so good. God created heaven and earth and each of us. Release control and trust in the one that is in control.

Trust in God!
